PP Plastic Material

The Second-Generation EVA Foam Liner
The PP shell is only half of the product. The layer your leg actually touches is the EVA foam liner bonded to the back of it, and on the current plastic range that liner runs to a second-generation foam.
The liner is a second-generation EVA foam chosen for softness and resilience rather than density. It compresses against the shape of the shin and takes up the small irregularities of the leg, so the shell sits on a cushion that conforms to you instead of resting on a hard flat contact point.
Its elasticity is the other half of the story. A foam that springs back to full thickness after compression keeps cushioning the leg on every wear rather than packing down, which is what keeps the shell following the leg instead of floating above it.
The thickness we publish for the PP range is measured across the finished guard with the EVA liner in place, on the same construction basis as the carbon range.
