No. Ultra L is 12.5 cm wide and 20 cm tall. What makes Ultra different is that it is wider than the Classic carbon mold at a comparable size, and only slightly taller at the top end. Ultra S is the clearest example: it is 3 cm wider than Classic S, while the measured samples put it 1 mm shorter.

Will a wider shell fit under normal football socks?

Ultra is wider than the Classic mold, so the shell takes up more room around the shin. Wear the socks or sleeves you actually play in when you check the fit, and compare the measured width against the coverage you are used to. If you are moving up from a Classic size, expect the difference in width to be the noticeable change rather than the length.
