Liner Lab

The EVA Foam Liner

Turn a carbon shin guard over and the layer that actually rests against your leg is not the carbon shell. It is the EVA foam liner bonded to the inside of it, and on the current carbon range that liner has been upgraded.

Upgraded: embossed crocodile texture

The upgrade is a crocodile-grain texture embossed across the whole face of the liner. The raised scales are not decoration: they lift the foam off the leg and open shallow channels across the panel, so air moves through the liner and perspiration has somewhere to travel instead of sitting trapped against your shin.

That matters because a shin guard is worn tight and left on for a full session. A smooth foam face pressed flat against the skin has nowhere to breathe, while a textured one keeps a thin layer of moving air against the leg, and that is what keeps the inside of the guard feeling dry rather than slick.

The texture also changes how the guard carries load. Instead of one flat plate pressing on the shin, the contact breaks into many small points that flex with the curve of the leg, so the liner follows the shin and the EVA keeps its cushioning underneath. The thickness we publish for the carbon range is measured across the finished guard with the EVA liner included, so it describes the full stack your leg actually feels.

Can carbon fiber shin guards be personalized with photos and names?
Yes. The carbon option supports photos, names, jersey numbers, text and artwork. The left and right guards can also use different images. Use the artwork guidelines to prepare files and review the design preview before production.
How do carbon fiber and plastic shin guards compare?
Both SAIWEI SPORTS options support customization, seven carbon and eight PP product sizes, an MOQ of 1+ and different left/right images. How do I know the carbon fiber is real?
A reliable product-specific answer should use traceable material evidence, such as supplier or production material documentation, close-up material photographs, construction specifications and clearly described physical tests where appropriate. SAIWEI SPORTS should not use unverified grade, layer or “aerospace” terminology simply because the product has a carbon appearance.
Can I order custom carbon fibre shin pads in the UK?
